She endured online attacks, family estrangement and business struggles until support from mainland strangers rekindled her hope and the National Security Law helped restore order. Five years on, her cafe now buzzes with customers, and her family gathers at the dinner table, learning to heal. This is the ordinary peace Hong Kong nearly lost and has fought to regain. Now, a new generation grows up in peace, their futures anchored to a city reborn.
